Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham provides free, confidential, impartial advice on benefits, debt, housing, employment and consumer rights to people who live, work or study locally. Their website is cahf.org.uk. The national Citizens Advice directory lists the same local office, with Adviceline details and visit guidance: Citizens Advice Hammersmith and Fulham. Their published Adviceline is 0808 278 7832 (Mon–Fri 10am–4pm; free from mobiles and landlines, per their phone page). Prefer starting on their site for WhatsApp, email and other channels.

For topic self-help on the national Citizens Advice site (still free to read): housing, debt and money, benefits, work, immigration and family.

Hammersmith and Fulham Law Centre (registered charity 287462) is listed by the Charity Commission as giving free legal advice and support on housing issues locally, with legal aid contracts in housing, welfare benefits, and immigration and asylum. Contact details on the official register: Charity Commission contact page (website field: www.hflaw.org.uk; phone listed there). The Law Centres Network also lists Hammersmith & Fulham Law Centre in its UK list of Law Centres. Most Law Centres can only help people in their catchment — contact them before visiting. For other free options if a Law Centre cannot help, see the Network’s other sources of help.

Legal aid and Civil Legal Advice (official): use GOV.UK to check if you can get legal aid, read what legal aid can cover, and find Civil Legal Advice (CLA). The Legal Aid Agency pages explain the scheme. Eligibility depends on your case type and finances — the checkers on GOV.UK are the authoritative starting point.

Housing: Shelter England — get help and Shelter housing advice are free national resources for renters and people facing homelessness. Local housing problems may also be covered by Citizens Advice or the Law Centre above.

Guides and free clinics (national, free): Advicenow publishes free plain-English legal guides. LawWorks — for individuals explains how to find free legal advice clinics and related help. These are not Hammersmith-only services; check eligibility on each site.
